Format description: A roundtable works best during a workshop to encourage dialogue and foster inclusivity where all participants can be in view of one another and feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, experiences, and and challenges. As the workshop will begin with a brief context setting panel lasting 25 minutes for panelists to share the latest information and data on how geopolitical instability affects private sector tech companies, their policies and activities. Panelists will provide insight to the unique threat landscape that geopolitical instability creates to digital safety and security. Following this, the World Economic Forum's Head of Governance and Trust will give a n overview of the Trust Framework to participant for 5 minutes. The remaining hour will be broken up into two thirty minute sessions- one for break out groups applying the Trist and Safety Principles to their own roles and work and the final thirty to reconvene and ask questions.

Policy Question(s)
What unique online harms or risks arise during periods of geopolitical tension? How are private sector companies investing in digital safety tools? What threats do platforms face? How can platforms maintain trust during crises? What governance and policy measures are important to protect digital safety and trust?
What will participants gain from attending this session? Based on the World Economic Forum’s work on Digital Trust and the Global Coalition on Digital Safety, this workshop will provide participants with common language on trust and digital safety. The Forum's Digital Trust Framework will be shared and explained thoroughly as a standard for participants to use when evaluating/ measuring trustworthiness of companies and their work. The workshop will provide a unique perspective into private led privacy/ safety efforts with the aim of maintaining trust through means beyond public policy or law.

Expected Outcomes
This session will inform the work of the Global Coalition on Digital Safety as well as the World Economic Forum's efforts on Digital Trust. The immediate outcome will be a published op-ed style article detailing the findings of the session as well as the diverse perspectives captured there.
Hybrid Format: The session will have both an online and on site moderator to facilitate equitable dialogue between in person and remote participants. The online moderator will be responsible for fielding questions from remote participants and leading their break out group effectively. The onsite moderator will provide adequate space for the online participants to be well captured and reflected.
