    This workshop, organized by the Wikimedia Foundation, Oxfam International, and the Malaysia Representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights, explores the critical role of regional organizations in fostering public interest AI development. The session will delve into regional digital rights plans, focusing on ASEAN's Digital Blueprint 2026-2035, Latin America's initiatives, and ECOWAS's strategies. Speakers include representatives from the Malaysia Digital Minister, AICHR Malaysia, ECOWAS, Latin America (IACHR), Wikimedia Foundation, and Oxfam. The workshop aims to facilitate a comprehensive discussion on how regional frameworks can ensure AI is developed ethically, sustainably, and inclusively. It will highlight best practices and challenges in implementing these plans across diverse regions. The session will provide a platform for stakeholders to share insights on the intersection of AI governance and human rights, emphasizing the importance of collaborative governance in ensuring AI benefits are equitably distributed.
